Good Morning – Everyday Alarm · by Zerostic
Privacy policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
This policy covers the Good Morning – Everyday Alarm app for Android phones and Wear OS watches (package com.zerostic.goodmorning), made by Zerostic, Faridabad, Haryana, India. It explains what data the app accesses, why, where it is stored, who it is shared with, and how to delete it.
Good Morning is free: no ads, no subscription and no paid features. We do not sell your data and never use it for advertising. The app does not collect or use your device's advertising ID.
Health data (sleep)
Sleep tracking, Smart Wake and wind-down suggestions are optional. The app only reads health data after you turn them on and grant permission in the system permission screen. You can revoke access at any time in Health Connect or Samsung Health settings.
What we access
- Health Connect: read-only access to sleep sessions (start and end times and sleep stages such as awake, light, deep and REM), heart-rate variability (RMSSD) and resting heart rate. The app does not write to Health Connect and does not read any other health data type.
- Samsung Health (Samsung phones only, if you connect it): read-only access to sleep (sessions, stages and sleep score) and energy score.
- Wear OS watch sensors (only while Smart Wake is running overnight): heart rate and motion (accelerometer and gyroscope), used to estimate your sleep stage so the alarm can ring in a light-sleep phase.
- Phone motion sensor (only while phone-based Smart Wake is running): movement while the phone is on the bed, for the same purpose.
How we use it
- To show your sleep history, sleep stages and sleep score in the app's Sleep tab.
- To estimate, on your device, your sleep need, sleep debt, body clock (chronotype) and tonight's suggested bedtime.
- To pick the best moment to wake you inside the Smart Wake window you choose. The sleep-stage model runs on your watch and phone; your data is not used to train it.
- To compare your evening heart-rate variability and resting heart rate with your own recent baseline and suggest a longer, calmer wind-down when your body looks tense. This is a wellness suggestion, not a medical assessment.
- To show last night's sleep on the morning screen after your alarm. That line is written on your device and is not part of the AI Morning Briefing.
Where it is stored
Sleep data is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. Watch sensor readings are processed on the watch and only the resulting sleep estimate or wake signal is sent to your paired phone over the Wear OS connection. Sleep data is not uploaded to our servers, is not backed up to your account, and is not included in analytics or crash reports.
Sharing
We do not sell or share health data, and we do not use it for advertising, credit or insurance decisions. Health data does not leave your devices: it is not sent to Google's Gemini API or any other AI service, including for the AI Morning Briefing.
Good Morning's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting it
Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, or deleting your account removes all stored sleep history from the device. Revoking the permission in Health Connect or Samsung Health stops any further reads.
Other data the app uses
- Account (optional; you can use a guest account): name, email address, phone number, country, profile picture and app preferences (theme, weather settings), stored in Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database and Storage) so you can sign in and restore your profile.
- Alarms and settings: stored on your device. If you are signed in, your alarms are also backed up to Firebase Realtime Database so they can be restored on a new phone.
- Alarm history and morning rating: when each alarm rang (and whether Smart Wake woke you early) and your optional "How refreshed do you feel?" answer. Stored on your device only, to tell work days from free days, personalise your sleep estimates and show how well Smart Wake works for you.
- Watch sensor list: which sensors your paired watch has, so the app can show what it can and can't measure with your devices. Kept on your phone; no health readings.
- Tasks: stored on your device, and shown on your paired watch if you use the Good Morning watch app. If you turn on the AI Morning Briefing, the titles of the day's tasks are sent to Google's Gemini API to write it (see below).
- Calendar (optional, off until you turn on "Add calendar events to Tasks" and allow calendar access): the app reads the timed events on calendars synced to your phone (for example meetings and flights) for today and the next 7 days and adds them as tasks. Holidays, birthdays, all-day events and events you declined are skipped. Access is read-only: the app never changes your calendar, and calendar data is not sent to our servers. Event titles become task titles, so if the AI Morning Briefing is on, the titles of today's events are included in it and sent to Google's Gemini API. Turning the setting off removes the tasks it added that you haven't ticked or edited.
- Approximate location (optional): used to show the local weather. Coordinates are rounded before being sent to OpenWeatherMap to fetch the forecast. We do not store your location on our servers.
- Camera (only if you choose the QR code dismiss method): used live to scan your code. No photos or video are saved or uploaded.
- Microphone is not used.
- Messages you send us from the Contact Us screen, and AI briefing reports: stored in Firebase so we can reply and review them.
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): device model, OS version, app state at the time of a crash and your account ID. Deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase): which screens and features are used, tied to an app-install ID, never to the advertising ID (the app turns advertising-ID collection off and does not request the permission). Deleted automatically after at most 14 months.
- Notifications: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send app notices.
AI Morning Briefing
The AI Morning Briefing is optional. Before the first briefing the app asks you once whether Google's Gemini may write it, and nothing is sent until you choose Allow. You can turn it on or off at any time in Settings → AI Morning Briefing.
- What is sent (only while it is on): your first name, today's weather and the titles (and times) of today's tasks, including events added from your calendar if you turned that on. This goes to Google's Gemini API to write a short text briefing, which Google processes under the Gemini API terms.
- What is never sent: sleep and other health data (from Health Connect, Samsung Health or your watch), your email, your location and your account ID. Last night's sleep is shown on the morning screen next to the briefing, written on your device.
- If it is off (or you chose "No thanks"), the app writes a plain briefing from the same facts on your device and nothing goes to Google.
AI-written text is labelled "Written by AI (Google Gemini)" in the app. If a briefing is wrong or inappropriate, tap Report next to that label and choose what was wrong; the app sends us your choice with the text of that briefing, stored in Firebase with your other messages so we can review it. Otherwise we do not store briefing requests or responses on our servers.
Watch recommendations and affiliate links
If your devices can't power a feature (for example, no watch with a heart-rate sensor), the app may suggest compatible watches. Suggestions are chosen only by the sensors a feature needs and by price. Brands do not pay for placement.
Some links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, Zerostic may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Links open the retailer's website, where the retailer's privacy policy applies. We don't send your health data or account details to retailers. You can hide a suggestion, or turn suggestions off in Settings.
Service providers
- Google Firebase (account, alarm backup, messages, crash reports, analytics, notifications): Firebase privacy
- Google Gemini API (optional AI Morning Briefing text: first name, weather and today's task titles; no health data)
- OpenWeatherMap (weather)
- Health Connect and Samsung Health (read-only sources of sleep data on your device)
We share data with these providers only to run the features above. We may also disclose data if required by law.
Security and retention
Data in transit uses HTTPS/TLS. Account data is kept until you delete your account. Device data is kept until you delete it, clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
Your choices and deleting your data
- Every permission (location, health data, sensors, camera, notifications) can be denied or revoked in Android settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
- Delete your account and its data in the app (Settings → profile → Delete account) or by email. Full steps: goodmorning.zerostic.com/delete-account. Signing out of a guest account also deletes it and all of its data, because a guest account can't be signed in to again.
- Turn the AI Morning Briefing on or off in Settings → AI Morning Briefing.
Children
Good Morning is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
